#PeriodFriendlyWorld: Let’s Chat with Naisula Lepariyo
As we look ahead to Menstrual Hygiene Day, May 28, 2025, the WinS Network is excited about the theme, "Together for a #PeriodFriendlyWorld." Today, we spotlight the importance of creating a stigma-free environment around menstruation and ensuring access to vital resources.
In this month's podcast, we feature Naisula Lepariyo, a consultant and speaker works in gender integration, women and wealth, and education. Coming from the indigenous Samuru tribe in northern Kenya, she is a strong advocate for inclusive economic and educational opportunities, particularly for underrepresented communities.
Listen in on the conversation as we learn how she is addressing alarming adolescent girl dropout rates in her hometown schools in Samburu County, Kenya. Her revealing investigation findings and the proactive steps she is taking—such as utilizing the film Impure to spark dialogue around menstruation, taboos, stigma, and menstrual poverty—are truly inspiring.
