Episode 1:

The WinS Global Network podcast series WinSTrailblazers, interviewed Waterquip CEO, to learn more about their innovative women-led water distribution company in Uganda. WaterQuip is working with more than 700 schools, giving approximately 350,000 children access to piped safe drinking water on a daily basis. This keeps the children safe from diarrhea and typhoid, increases their school attendance and enhances their performance. In addition to improving living conditions and mitigating waterborne diseases, their products and solutions have a direct positive impact on the environment in that they reduce carbon dioxide emissions and deforestation. By replacing boiling with UV purification, huge amounts of CO2 emissions are avoided. Replacing boiling with UV also implies less reliance on firewood and charcoal. Firewood harvesting is one of the major causes of deforestation and the second largest contributing factor to global climate change. It also disrupts the lives of people and contributes to social conflict and migration. Learn more & support WaterQuip Website: www.waterquip.org Insta: www.instagram.com/waterquip.
