1st ILE Africa Thematic Session on Capacity Development for WinS

This presentation was used in one of the thematic sessions of the first African WinS ILE on Capacity Development.

The session provided an overview of different capacity development approaches for WinS and their respective advantages and disadvantages as well as scale-up potential. 

Different approaches as well as implementation examples were presented and discussed during the session, including:

• Training of trainers
• Manuals, videos and checklists
• Online modalities (MOOC, Webinars etc.)
• Local learning exchanges
• WinS Monitoring (as a capacity development method for schools)
• Awards & competitions

Country specific examples were shared and stimulated discussions on how these approaches could be applied within individual country contexts and with available resources (financial and human resources).
